The initiative aims to develop strategies for reaping the benefits of California’s rich diversity by creating new industry-community partnerships, raise awareness of policy issues and strategies, as well as strategize ways to build sustainable and successful health career pipeline programs. |

Toward Fair Cures Conference |

In 2004, the state of California passed the Cell Research and Cures Act, directing $3 billion of state monies into stem cell research. With such an investment into healthcare and employment opportunities, the underserved and minority communities of California must ensure that their stem cell program serves the state's diverse population. The Toward Fair Cures Conference was established to unite leaders from minority communities, academia, and the sciences to discuss the importance of ethinc diversity at all levels of stem cell research in California. |
